Going out to a professional or college sporting event can be very expensive. It is bad enough that we have to pay $50-$150 or more per ticket but then there is the cost of food and drink. 1. Food and beverages are expensive at sporting events because there is no competition so all the places make their prices high. Also a lot of times fundraisers run the concessions, so to make money they have to increase the prices.
2. We spend a lot more at sporting events because their is no alternative like a glass of water. You have to buy a bottled water, and also there are no refills at sporting events unless they have like a special package.
